A big thank you!

May 21, 2012

It’s arrived! Jon’s prize for winning Gibson’s “Right to Rock” song writing competition is here! It’s a custom-made Les Paul, and among its many cool features are the #26 inlaid on the 12th fret and the bullet casing on the nut cover.  These are in reference to the 26 heavily armed federal agents who raided the Gibson factory. Most importantly, it’s killer – plays and sounds fab!

Thanks so much to all of you who voted for my song. If you want to hear it again, click here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRtRYvEQRHg

Gibson organized this competition to raise awareness of their unfair treatment by the Feds. (To read Gibson’s view click here: http://tinyurl.com/26Gibson )

There are only seven guitars like it in existence. Here they are in production.

Did yours come with the black volume knobs on it or did you add them?. Mine came with gold

I added the black knobs – I didn’t like the gold ones it came with, they looked a bit too much like nipples. I also changed the cream pickup surround rings and cream pickup selector ring for black ones too.
